Insert the fresh mint “sprigs”, heaped gunpowder tea and sugar in your Moroccan teapot and fill the teapot with warm water. If the mint sprigs are too large to fit in your pot, cut them in half.
Place your teapot over a medium-low heat and let it simmer until it comes to a boil. It’s important to let the tea slowly come to a boil to enable the gunpowder tea and fresh mint to steep properly.
When it comes to a boil, carefully open the teapot, and with a large spoon, stir the tea to make sure that the sugar is well dissolved. Serve immediately. If desired, place a fresh mint sprig in each teacup/glass to obtain a stronger mint aroma.
